Namibia Votes in Africa's First Electronic Poll

Namibians are choosing a new president and parliament, this is Africa's first electronic ballot. About 1.2 million voters are eligible to cast their ballots at nearly 4,000 polling stations across the vast country.

A working staff displays a electronic voting machine, polling officers will verify voter cards on a device containing the national voters' roll. In the booth, the voter selects their party of choice by pressing a button on an electronic ballot unit.

EKEMP and face technology, Bharat Electronics Limited worked together on Namibia's 2014 national election project.

Face technology,  Founded in 1993, Face Technologies, or Face as the company is commonly referred to, is an IT systems integrator specialising in card technology and biometrics in South Africa.

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) was established at Bangalore, India, by the Government of India under the Ministry of Defence in 1954 to meet the specialised electronic needs of the Indian defence services.
